Billing - "The Bottom Line"

Intriguing Development will bill you on an hourly or a fixed contract basis.

Hourly Billing

We believe the most flexible and fair billing method is hourly. You pay only for actual development time under the hourly billing method. When hiring our expert programming staff, the hourly billing method can save your organization a tremendous amount of money. When working under the hourly billing method, you can change the product specification or feature set without re-negotiating a contract. If you are concerned about variable costs, Intriguing Development can establish a cap putting a ceiling on your expenses in any one period.

Hourly work is billed monthly and source code for the work-in-progress can be delivered on a monthly basis as well. This gives you the ability to inspect the work and see that it is living up to your expectations. Intriguing Development expects the process to be an interactive one and we welcome your feedback.

Fixed Fee Contracts

Intriguing Development understands the need for organizations to fix developmental costs and therefore we also work on a fixed fee basis. However, when we undertake a fixed fee contract an extremely detailed functional specification must be written. The client is expected to draft this specification, but Intriguing Development will work with you in order to make it clear enough to allow us to bid on the work. The specification must outline the complete operation of the software including the user interface, and is expected to suggest data structures and guidelines for implementation where appropriate.

Fixed fee projects are broken down into one or more milestones. A typical fixed fee contract specifies payment upon starting the project, at each major milestone and upon your acceptance of the work. Since Intriguing Development must assume the risk of an error in estimating the complexity of implementing your project, fixed fee contracts can cost significantly more than the same work performed on an hourly basis. Any changes from the specification must be negotiated.
